Engineering Materials for Demanding Applications

Depending on the application, components can be manufactured from materials such as PA12-CF, PA6-CF, ABS, ASA, PC and other engineering thermoplastics.

Carbon-fibre reinforced materials provide a particularly attractive combination of low weight, stiffness and dimensional stability, making them suitable for many motorsport development and non-structural functional applications.

Material selection can be adapted to the required temperature resistance, mechanical properties, surface quality and operating environment.

Rapid Development and Low-Volume Production

One of the main advantages of additive manufacturing in motorsport is the ability to move quickly from CAD design to a physical component.

Parts can be produced without conventional tooling, making 3D printing particularly suitable for prototypes, design validation, replacement components and small production series.

This allows teams to test different geometries, make rapid modifications and manufacture updated components without the cost and lead time associated with traditional tooling.

From CAD File to Finished Component

Customers can provide STEP, STL or other suitable 3D files for manufacturing. Before production, the geometry, orientation and material requirements can be reviewed to select an appropriate manufacturing strategy.

For projects requiring repeated production, manufacturing parameters can also be standardised to provide consistent results across multiple batches.

POLYFORGE-AM provides industrial 3D printing for motorsport, prototype development and low-volume manufacturing for professional engineering and racing applications.
